| Description: My Country, My Country is a documentary filmed in Iraq. Filmmaker Laura Poitras spent over eight months alone in Iraq filming this documentary. The film shows life in Iraq for average Iraqis under U.S. occupation. Poitras focus primarily on Dr. Riyadh, an Iraqi medical doctor, father of six and Sunni political candidate. Members of the 2nd Battalion, 162nd Infantry Oregon Army National Guard witnessed Poitras filming from the rooftop of Dr. Aladhadh's rooftop during an ambush. Poitras initially denied being present during the ambush but then admitted in Jan. 2006. There is some debate on whether she had knowledge beforehand of the attack. |
